Workshop Fees
(2011-2012)

Despite market forces, we continue to maintain our founding principle of affordable film training for all that is of a high standard and relevant to today's Film & Television Industry.

How does IMI calculate the price of your tuition?

One important and distinctive factor in our tution structure is that there are no financial surprises.

The cost of tuition, practical demonstrations, classroom exercises with professional camera & editing equipments for hand-on experience and study materials you require to complete your education are included in the fees of Foundation Workshop.

During the workshop, students are advised to make their exercise films without incurring any additional expenses and are encouraged to pool in their resources to arrange any production needs for their projects.

All amounts are listed in Indian Rupees. The same charges are payable by both Indian & International students.

Foundation Workshop
(Full fee for one & half month weekend / 3 weeks full-time)
Rs. 18,200
Admission Fee 6,200
Tuition Fee 12,000

On completion of the workshop, all students are expected to produce their final film with their own resources and for that all necessary equipments can be availed from IMI facilities at concession rates. Membership to Film & Text Library at IMI is also available on separate payment of yearly membership fees.

Students at IMI
I had never ever thought of a professional career in the Film industry. I was in the last semester of my Bachelors in Art History at Faculty of Fine Arts, when IMI came to conduct Filmmaking Foundation Program at M.S. University, Vadodara. Initially I was least interested but on the insistence of our dean, I joined the course. Amazingly, it carved my career path. Thanks to four films I made during the IMI Filmmaking Workshop, I got my first job in Moving Pixel- a Production house in Ahmedabad, where I made documentaries. Within six months, I moved to Mumbai and joined Pumpkin Pictures and worked in 3 Ad films. Now I am a freelancer, working as an Assistant Art Director in an English language Film 'Dam 999', an Indo-Hollywood Production. Today I am flying internationally, thanks to IMI.
Arkaja Upadhyay,
Assistant Art Director
